So Minneapolis got like 8 inches of snow or something stupid, but regardless of our crappy weather I’m ready for spring.  Drawn for Bi-Weekly Challenge for the topic ‘Spring’, I wanted to pay homage to one of my childhood favorites: Fantasia.  That segment with the centaurs and the drunk satyr and all the baby unicorns was something I’d watch on repeat as a kid, and it always makes me think of the season.
Decided to go digital this round because holy crap it’s 2 months until my wedding and I’m in panic mode now, hah.

This photo was taken over 20 years ago by Todd Robertson during a KKK rally in northeast Georgia. One of the boys approached a black state trooper, who was holding his riot shield on the ground. Seeing his reflection, the boy reached for the shield, and Robertson snapped the photo.
I think the officer’s expression says it all. This child standing before him is being taught how to hate even though he doesn’t understand it. He probably doesn’t understand the difference between this and Halloween.

…and I’m done!

Professional sculptor Stefanie Rocknak beat out 265 other artists from 42 states and 13 countries to create a sculpture honoring author and poet Edgar Allan Poe that will be displayed in Boston, Poe’s birthplace. A five-member artist selection committee decided on Rocknak’s stunning work that shows Poe with a suitcase in hand and a raven in front of him.

No wonder she won, holy butts, look at that majestic creature.
